General Information
FIE works closely with its university partners, placement sites and affiliated organizations to provide an accessible experience for all students. FIE's Administration & Accessibility Manager can assist you with any accessibility needs or queries – from pre-application and throughout your study abroad experience. FIE staff regularly attend workshops, training sessions, and share best practices with others to support students in higher education. FIE is a proud member of several professional organizations including AHEAD and NADP. FIE, in accordance with its mission, is committed to a comprehensive policy of equal opportunities and as such, our programs are tailored to give access to the widest possible student representation. We recognize that the environment, services, and facilities may be “enabling” or “disabling” and support the social model of disability. Please contact our team with any questions or concerns you may have.
Applications from students with various physical, sensory, cognitive and behavioral/emotional disabilities are welcomed. You are encouraged to declare disabilities on your application form to allow for discussion on access requirements and to provide time for reasonable accommodations to be arranged. In addition to the support you receive from our FIE team in the US and abroad, there are a variety of online resources available for students with disabilities.
